Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is actually a national holiday in the United States. The purpose of the holiday is to give thanks to God and to celebrate the first Thanksgiving between the Pilgrims and the Native American Indians. Because of the Indians the Pilgrims didn't starve to death during their first winter on the American continent.
Although many people no longer recognize it, the United States was founded on religious freedom, and the first Thanksgiving about was about celebrating the survival of the Pilgrims.
This holiday is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.
